Battlefield 1 Medic Class loadouts and strategies - Rifles, Syringes, Grenade Launchers and more

Everything you need to know for mastering the Battlefield 1 Medic Class.

The Battlefield 1 Medic class, once part of a combined class in previous Battlefield games, is now a specialist in supporting your squad through healing.

Previously combined with the Assault class, the Medic now gains exclusive access to the rifle class of weaponry - arguably the most powerful in our early experience of Battlefield 1 - and is just as much of a threat offensively as it is providing support for your team. It's probably the most popular class in the game, and certainly one of the most important when it comes to sustaining both defenses and pushes for the objective, so here's our complete guide to the Medic class.

As you've probably guessed, we'll be looking at the Medic class in depth here, but once you're done be sure to also check out our guides for the Assault class, Support class, Scout class and specialist Pilot, Tanker and Cavalry classes, too.

Medic Class unique items

The Medic's gadgets allow you to adjust your playstyle significantly, depending on whether you have an interest in offensive or supportive action. The Syringe acts as a First World War defibrillator, reviving fallen teammates, whilst the Medical Crate is your standard heal-over-time health pack, and the Bandage Pouch acts as a more immediate heal, but is single-use and must be targeted at another teammate to use.

Rifle Grenades, meanwhile grant the option to build your Medic around mid-range damage, with the High Explosive grenade more targeted at vehicles than personnel.

  • Medical Syringe
  • Medical Crate
  • Rifle Grenade - High Explosive
  • Rifle Grenade - Smoke
  • Rifle Grenade - Frag
  • Bandage Pouch

Medic Class strategies

The most important thing you can do to get the most out of the Medic class is to specialise. Knowing, as you build your loadout, whether you're going to be playing as a true field medic, dashing around the battlefield healing your allies, means you can prepare for that in advance by combining all three healing options into your kit.

Rifle Grenades on the other hand allow you to play as more of a combative member of the squad, laying down significant area-of-effect damage when holding choke-points. It's also a playstyle which makes the most of the excellent and highly-versatile rifles the Medic class can access.

Also worth noting is that the traditional Battlefield combo of the Scout/Support-Medic dream team is still very much alive. We had great success, for instance, in holding the Windmill point in a game of Rush on St Quentin's Scar by setting up camp on the ground floor next to a squad member lucky enough to pick up the Flamethrower bonus.

Continuously cycling heals and covering fire from the versatile Medic rifle meant that we could hold that final choke point against very strong opposition until the counter ran down. The same will work for friendly Scouts and Supports, too.
