Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown playable on Xbox One

Huzzah!

Fresh from the news that Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will be playable on PlayStation 4 in a roundabout way, Microsoft has announced Xbox One backward compatibility for the Xbox 360 version.

Three more Xbox 360 games were added to the Xbox One's backward compatibility list overnight: Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Bound by Flame and The Maw.

(This means over 250 games are available on Xbox One as part of the backward compatibility feature, Microsoft said.)

Virtua Fighter 5 is considered by some fighting game aficionados to be the greatest there is. While I don't subscribe to this school of thought (the last time I played Virtua Fighter was in an arcade on a boat going from Holyhead to Dublin in the mid-nineties), Martin swears by it, and every now and then asks me if I've heard whether Sega is making a new one.

I haven't, I always tell him. Play Street Fighter instead.
