Blizzard erects statue in Taiwan

Wow.

To commemorate its 25th anniversary Blizzard Entertainment has erected a statue of World of Warcraft villain Lich King Arthas Menethil in Taiwan.

Created by Taiwanese designer, Steve Wang, this 14ft bronze sculpture is located on the Calligraphy Greenway in Taichung, Taiwan. It weighs 4k and Blizzard released the following video showing how it was made:

It took over 30 people upwards of nine months to create this incredibly detailed piece of metal.

"We are thrilled to see the unveiling of Arthas", said Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime. "The statue of Arthas is not just for the 25th birthday of Blizzard, but it is also our appreciation to all gaming communities in Taiwan. We are looking forward to the next 25 years of epic gaming experiences."

"We wanted to give the world the most iconic character in the Blizzard universe," added VP of cinematic development Nick Carpenter. "It took an army, the most talented people in this industry to pull it off."
