Overwatch closed beta returns next week

Adds a new game mode, two new maps, and AI matches.

Overwatch's closed beta is returning on 9th February in Europe and the Americas (and 16th February in Asia) after Blizzard took it offline in December to make improvements.

It was originally supposed to return in January, but the developer delayed it so it could fine-tune a new game mode.

It's unclear what that new game mode is just yet, but Blizzard noted in its announcement that the closed beta will include such a mode along with the following enhancements:

  • An all-new progression system
  • Two new maps, including a new game mode
  • Several hero balance updates
  • And a variety of Private Game updates, including full A.I. matches

Those who partook in the closed beta before will be invited back, and Blizzard is looking to bring in new recruits to test its wealth of new content. You can sign up here.
