3D Realms' Bombshell release date delayed until January

Deluxe Edition includes beta access to upcoming FPS prequel.

Bombshell, the upcoming isometric shooter by Duke Nukem 3D developer 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment (Rise of the Triad reboot) is now set for a 29th January release on PC, 3D Realms has announced.

PS4 and Xbox One versions are being developed by Abstraction Games for a launch later in 2016.

Bombshell will launch at $34.99 (about £23), with a Digital Deluxe Edition priced at $39.99 (about £26) that includes a digital soundtrack, art book, map and early beta access to the Bombshell FPS prequel due later next year.

This FPS prequel will be a retro affair built in the Duke Nukem 3D engine. It will follow the story of how titular character Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison lost her arm.

"We wanted to pack as much value for players into our Digital Deluxe edition as we possibly could," said 3D Realms CEO Mike Nielsen. "For a few extra bucks, you're getting a bad-ass soundtrack, a hi-res digital art book, beta access to a nostalgia-inducing Bombshell FPS Prequel game, and more."
