Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer sells 2m copies

As Wii U and 3DS hardware sales tick on.

Animal Crossing spin-off Happy Home Designer has shot to 2.02m sales worldwide since its launch in Japan on 30th July.

Europe and North America got the simulation sandbox four weeks ago, alongside a range of NFC cards that add extra characters.

These cards showed "strong" sales, Nintendo noted today in its latest financial results. Amiibo figures continue to maintain "robust" sales, also.

Worldwide 3DS hardware sales now stand at 54.34m. Nintendo shifted 2.28m units over the last six months.

Wii U sales are now at 10.73m units, a small increason the 10m milestone reached at the end of July.

Super Mario Maker, released globally in September, has now sold 1.88m, while Splatoon, released in May, is now up to 2.42m.
