The Stanley Parable designer teases new game

Launches ARG campaign.

The Stanley Parable designer William Pugh has launched a new studio called Crows Crows Crows. He's also teasing an upcoming game that's "due quite imminently".

This should not be confused with The Beginner's Guide, which was created by The Stanley Parable's original creator Davey Wreden who collaborated with Pugh on that game's commercial remake.

Little is known about Crows Crows Crows' debut effort, but the studio's official site leads to an obscure ARG. It begins with a letter from Chief Inspector Eloise Lavigne asking a certain Deputy Angelo to look into a "series of peculiar disappearances across Europe over the course of the late summer". This leads to a file containing various details about the case. There also may or may not be a cat that keeps sneaking into Deputy Angelo's hotel room while he sleeps to breathe on his face. How else to explain his recent bout of allergies?

It's unclear if this inscrutable puzzle is tied to the upcoming game's story or is a separate entity altogether. Pugh's confirmed on Twitter that PC Gamer has the first actual screenshots of the game in question, and it appears to be a first-person affair. The mechanics and genre remain a mystery, however, just like Deputy Angelo's allergy to a suspiciously absent cat. Clearly a game is afoot!

Pugh is also collaborating with Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland on a VR game, though that has yet to be announced.
