You'll have to wait a little longer for Life is Strange's finale

Episode 5 release date set for 20th October.

The fifth and final episode of Life is Strange will be released on 20th October, publisher Square Enix has announced.

That date, a month away, marks the longest wait between episodes for Life is Strange - something which developer Dontnod has addressed in a new update for fans:

"We've seen that a lot of you can't wait to play the Life is Strange finale and are eagerly waiting a release date. The episode is getting closer to submission and we are almost code complete," wrote producer Luc Baghadoust.

"We don't normally announce a date until we know the game is 100 per cent ready but in the spirit of Max's birthday (today) we wanted to let you know early that we are aiming to release Episode 5 'Polarized' October 20th. "Many things can change in the lead up to release but the team are working really hard to try and hit this date. We know the wait may be a bit longer than some of you were hoping for but we want to ensure Episode five is the best it can be. "Your tweets, comments and messages have kept us going through this busy stage of development and we can't thank you enough for your continued support."

Life is Strange has blossomed into a cult hit, but has also been a sales success - shifting more than 1m copies.
