Aer trailer merges Skyward Sword with Journey

Transform into a bird in this exploration-based aerial adventure.

Aer is a game that distills the medium into two of its most alluring possibilities: flying and exploring.

Due next year on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux, Aer puts players in the role of a woman who can turn into a bird at the touch of a button - a handy ability given that she lives in an kingdom of floating islands.

According to Swedish developer Forgotten Key, Aer's gameplay will be based around exploring a forgotten civilisation, encountering old gods and sneaking away from beasts. "Ultimately, you will challenge the Gods and save reality itself," the developer teased of its enigmatic plot.

Aer is being published by Daedalic Entertainment GmbH, the developer of the point-and-click Deponia series as well as the publisher of such titles as Machinarium and Botanicula.
