Crackdown 3 will offer 100 per cent destructible environments

Coming 2016.

On stage at Microsoft's still on-going Gamescom 2015 press conference, Dave Jones, of Reagent Games, introduced the first pre-alpha in-game footage of Crackdown 3, which promises competitive multiplayer action in "100 percent destructible environments."

What this means, according to a short gameplay video, is the ability to bring down entire skyscrapers and cause massive amounts of carnage - all achieved, apparently, through the Microsoft Cloud, harnessing "20 times the power of your Xbox One.".

It sounds like 100 per cent destruction is reserved for competitive multiplayer. The main campaign will once again be co-operative and will support up to four players.

Transforming vehicles will also be returning - they were absent in the second instalment - and the game's set in a huge new city.

At the end of the video, the phrase "Multiplayer begins Summer 2016" appears. A beta?
