Combat-free exploratory adventure Submerged due next week

Ex-BioShock dev's latest comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Submerged, a combat-free exploratory adventure by a trio of former BioShock developers in Australia, is out next week on PS4, Xbox One and PC, developer Uppercut Games has announced.

The PC and US PS4 version will be out on 4th August, the EU PS4 version will arrive the next day, and its Xbox One counterpart will follow on 7th August.

Submerged places players in the role of a young woman exploring a flooded city where she must scavenge for supplies to rescue her sick brother.

"Navigate the flooded city streets by boat, scale the drowned buildings, and use your telescope to scour the city for the supplies needed to save your dying sibling," creative director Ed Orman wrote on the PlayStation Blog. "As you explore the city at your own pace, you encounter the habitat that flourishes in this colourful place and discover hidden objects that piece together the story of a broken world and a broken family."

Submerged won best audio at this year's Freeplay Festival for its score by Alien: Isolation composer Jeff Van Dyck. Get a glimpse at its hauntingly serene locales in the Submerged announcement trailer below.
