There's a new FlatOut game in development

Vroom?

There's a new FlatOut game in the works and it's due out on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at some point in 2016.

Publisher Strategy First, who has got developer Kylotonn Entertainment to make the demolition derby-style racing game, says it's a multi-million dollar project.

That's about all we have for now. Strategy First has published a number of little-known games on Steam over recent years, including Cave Coaster in June 2015, Unlimited Escape games in May and Spellbind in March. As for Kylotonn, its credits include Motorcycle Club and Truck Racer.

Right now Strategy First is saying all the right things. Here's their director, Emanuel Wall:

"FlatOut is our most important franchise. There is a strong vocal community that have numerous constructive ideas and suggestions on what they would like to experience in an all new FlatOut. We would like to invite anyone who is a fan of FlatOut to be part of the process. We are excited about our partnership with Kylotonn Entertainment."

The original FlatOut games were developed by Finnish studio Bugbear Entertainment, which is busy working on Wreckfest. They went down very well indeed.

FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction was developed by Team6 Game Studios and released on PC in 2011. It didn't go down well at all.
