Disney Infinity 3.0 release date set for August
Finally, the Star Wars/Marvel crossover Patton Oswalt dreamed of.
Disney Infinity 3.0 is due out on 28th August in Europe for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC, Disney has announced.
North Americans will receive it two days later on 30th August.
As previously detailed, this latest version of Disney Infinity adds Star Wars characters to the mix. The £50 / $64.99 Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Starter Pack comes with Clone Wars-era Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano figurines.
Big spenders can cough up £104.99 / $114.99 to snag the PS4/PS3 exclusive Star Wars Starter Pack that includes everything above, along with the Rise Against the Empire playset, which features the cast of the original trilogy (Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Darth Vader).
Disney Infinity 3.0 will ultimately cover such eras as the Clone Wars, original trilogy, and eventually the upcoming Episode 7. But that last bit won't be out until after the movie premieres in December.
There will also be other Disney characters added to this latest version of Infinity, with folks from Marvel and Pixar's roster entering the mix too. Characters from multiple universes will be able to play together in a couple of "Toy Box" games. Sold separately later this autumn, these include the action-adventure affair Toy Box Takeover, and the kart racer, Toy Box Speedway.
