The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth due this month on Xbox One

Wii U and New 3DS versions set for North America, submitted to Nintendo Europe.

Comic horror roguelike The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is coming to Xbox One and the North American Wii U and 3DS eShops on 23rd July, publisher Nicalis, Inc. has announced.

"We are in final submission for both games with Nintendo of Europe," the publisher said on Twitter of its European release on Nintendo platforms. "We'll release as soon as we receive final approval from Nintendo of EU."

We'll update once we get confirmation on that.

Earlier this year The Binding of Isaac developer Edmund McMillen clarified that this handheld version of Isaac would only run on the New 3DS, but not the old model. "We simply couldn't get the game running well enough on the old system and weren't going to release a subpar version," he told Eurogamer at the time.

McMillen is still hard at work on the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth expansion Afterbirth, which will contain numerous new bosses, game modes, and even a Daily Challenge feature ala Spelunky.
