Just Cause dev releases its first mobile game

It's a turn-based strategy affair called Rumble City.

Just Cause 3 and Mad Max developer Avalanche Studios has just released its first mobile game, Rumble City.

Available today as a free title with in-app purchases on Android and Amazon devices, Rumble City is coming to iOS platforms on Thursday, 9th July.

Unlike Avalanche's usual action fare, Rumble City is a turn-based strategy game. The developer described this smaller outing as "a passion project for a small strike team with a deep affection for tactical gameplay and 1960's American biker culture."

It also referred to this whimsical creation as "biker chess".

"When the team presented the characters of Rumble City, I instantly knew that I wanted to share them with the world" said Avalanche CEO Pim Holfve. "While the game may be far removed from our trademark open world madness, it captures some of the same oddball humour our fans have come to expect and demand from us. That's why Rumble City, despite being so different, feels right at home in the Avalanche Studios catalogue of games."
