Super Mega Baseball set for Xbox One and Steam this summer

Take me out to the ball game.

Super Mega Baseball will make its way to Xbox One and Steam this summer with Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings.

Previously, Super Mega Baseball was released on PS3 and PS4.

This enhanced version of the acclaimed baseball game features extra content like new stadiums and enhanced physics-based gameplay.

It also supports both single-player modes in addition to four-player local co-op, 2v1, 2v2 and co-op against the CPU.

"Right now there are few options for quality, accessible sports titles on the market, particularly when it comes to baseball games on the Xbox One and PC," said developer Metalhead co-founder Scott Drader. "We're really looking to put this genre back on the map for more casual fans, especially the younger generation of gamers who haven't had access to the types of games that were common during their parents' generation. Games that could introduce a sport to the uninitiated and turn them into fans for life."

It certainly made our Chris Donlan a fan, though re-reading his Super Mega Baseball review it's quite possible Charles M. Schulz did that first. Regardless, he recommended the game, stating that its "ingenious approach to the basics" was "the essence of baseball".
