Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition announced for PS4

Adds new enemies, bosses, multiplayer and a harder difficulty mode.

Abyss Odyssey, the surreal action-roguelike from Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages developer ACE Team, is getting an enhanced 1080p PS4 version.

The gang's all here. Now with Golem.

Entitled, Extended Dream Edition, this will add the two-player online PvP and four-player local competitive modes from the PC version of the game that were sadly missing from its PS3 and Xbox 360 brethren.

It will also add new enemies, bosses, tweaked balance and will let you play as Golem from Zeno Clash 2.

There's also a new extra hard Nightmare difficulty mode.

Eurogamer contributor Dan Whitehead recommended Abyss Odyssey upon its initial release last summer. "For all its missteps, it remains utterly unique, absolutely gorgeous and delightfully eccentric," he wrote in his Abyss Odyssey review. "If you can stick around long enough to understand what's going on and what's expected of you, and make your peace with Abyss Odyssey's slightly over-reaching nature, you're left with a game that more than repays your patience."

Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition will launch "soon" in Europe and North America for $14.99 (about £10). Check out how it looks in action in its debut trailer below.
