Quirky survival sim Dyscourse is out now on Steam

Snuggle Truck dev's latest is a Lost-inspired choose-your-own adventure.

Surreal survival sim Dyscourse is out now on PC, Mac and Linux via Steam.

So it goes.

Funded via Kickstarter, Dyscourse is the latest project by Owlchemy Labs, the studio behind Snuggle Truck, Jack Lumber, and Aaaaa! for the Awesome.

Dyscourse places players in the ragged threads of a survivor tasked with keeping the peace among their shipwrecked crew. The developer described it as "Lord of the Flies plus a choose-your-own-adventure book, with a dash of Lost, and a sprinkle of The Walking Dead (minus the zombies), crafted with the humour and style Owlchemy Labs is known for."

Each playthrough is expected to only last about 60-80 minutes, but the level of choice and branching scenarios is epic in scale. "The game contains 120,000 words," explained Owlchemy's Alex Schwartz. "For reference, Twilight has 100,000 words and is also terrible."

Dyscourse will soon get a free update that lets you play as Tim Schafer and Rami Ismail, among other game developers, in a separate survival scenario.

"We wanted to polish the game the best we could for launch and get that out there and then work on the bonus scenario afterwards," Schwartz told Eurogamer.

Dyscourse will cost £10.99 / $14.99. It looks a little something like this:
