Payday 2 and SpeedRunners get free crossover content

Four characters invade each other's game.

Payday 2 and SpeedRunners, the beloved competitive multiplayer game that's inspired the new Giana Sisters title, have announced some free new crossover content.

Available on Steam as of today, anyone who owns both Payday 2 and SpeedRunners will receive a free DLC pack for each.

The new Payday 2 content includes four new playable characters from SpeedRunners. The new SpeedRunners content includes four new playable characters from Payday 2.

Note: The new characters in Payday 2 need to be unlocked as secrets in the game, whereas in SpeedRunners the new cast is available right off the bat.

"SpeedRunners and Payday 2 have much in common as intense multiplayer games," said Payday 2 publisher Starbreeze's global brand director Almir Listo. "For the first time ever, our Payday characters also make the jump to another game. Making this happen was a no-brainer and a perfect fit!"

"We love collaborations at tinyBuild, in fact SpeedRunners itself is a collaboration between us and DoubleDutch Games!" added SpeedRunners developer tinyBuild Games' CEO Alex Nichiporchik. "Seeing our characters as masks in Payday 2, and putting their iconic characters into SpeedRunners... Well, that's about as awesome as it gets."

Payday 2 has also added new heists, side jobs, characters and more as part of its Spring Break promotional event that's been going on all week.
