Ninja Theory's Devil May Cry hits PS4 and Xbox One next year in 60fps and 1080p

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition coming to PS4 and Xbox One, too.

Ninja Theory is remaking its Devil May Cry game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - and it runs at 60 frames per second and 1080p resolution.

Publisher Capcom will release DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition on 17th March 2015 priced £29.99.

Ninja Theory revisited DmC to make it run at 1080p60 - remember, the UK developer came in for a lot of stick for going for 30fps with the original version of the game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Definitive Edition comes bundles with all the downloadable content (Vergil's Downfall campaign, three Dante skins, three Dante weapon skins and the item finder), as well as two new skins: Devil May Cry 1 Dante and Classic Vergil.

There are new modes, too, including Turbo Mode (game runs 20 per cent faster) and Hardcore Mode. With the latter, the style system is rebalanced to make ranking up much harder and ranks deteriorate much quicker. In addition, Devil Trigger doesn't launch enemies into the air, parrying takes more skill and all enemies hand out more damage.

Vergil Bloody Palace is a new Bloody Palace mode that includes 60 levels and Vergil as the playable character. There's a new Must Style mode (players must be at an S rank or higher to deal any damage to enemies), and a Gods Must Die Difficulty Mode (all enemies spawn with Devil Trigger active and no items or health drops can be used).

Elsewhere, Ninja Theory has added a manual target lock (with configurable controls), which will surely make Devil May Cry purists happy.

There is rebalanced gameplay, exploits have been fixed and moves tweaked. For example, Dante's Demon Evade has been rebalanced, frames have been removed from Kablooey shots, Parry/Evade windows have been adjusted and collectibles, keys and doors have been redistributed.

Community mods are also added, such as an optional timer disable for Bloody Palace Mode, a triple dash for Angel Evade and the ability to hit red and blue enemies with any weapon.

And expect the addition of a new cutscene that never made it into the original game.

Meanwhile, Capcom announced Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is due out for PS4 and Xbox One in summer 2015, too. This was the last Devil May Cry game made internally by Capcom, and divided fans upon its release for starring Nero - not series star Dante.
