Resident Evil Revelations 2 trailer confirms Barry Burton's return

Release dates, pricing and extra characters revealed.

The rumours are true: Resident Evil 1 fan favourite Barry Burton - a character not glimpsed within the series in years - returns as a playable character in Resident Evil Revelations 2.

Burton is the game's second lead character, and follows a lead in the search for his missing daughter, Moira, on a remote prison island. He's back in the field as a BSAA advisor, Capcom said, having survived the Raccoon City incident.

On the island Burton meets a brand new character called Natalia Korda, a little girl who can sense enemies and hidden items. In the game you alternate between the two to find Moira.

Meanwhile, Capcom confirmed two new enemy types: The Rotten and The Revenant. The Rotten have bones visible through their bodies. The Revenant are formed from parts of human beings sewn together. They both sound lovely.

Capcom has so far confirmed returning heroine Claire Redfield as a lead character, who tags along with Moira.

The publisher is trying something a little different with this Resident Evil game and dividing it up into episodes. Each includes Raid mode content and two playable scenarios based on the Claire and Moira campaign and the Barry and Natalia campaign.
