This will actually be the seventh Etrian Odyssey game, however, as the first two titles have been - or are getting - remade.

The most recent Etrian Odyssey entry to appear on European shores was Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, a remake of the first game in the series that came out here in May.

Currently a remake of Etrian Odyssey 2, entitled Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: The Knight of Fafnir, is on its way - even if it hasn't been confirmed for an English-language release yet.

As such, Etrian Odyssey 5 has only been announced for Japan at this time, but every game in the series that's been released has inevitably made its way to Europe, even if some of them have taken their sweet time to get here.

The last numbered entry in the series was Etrian Odyssey 4: Legends of the Titan, which launched in Japan in July 2012, but didn't make it to Europe until August 2013.

No release window or platforms were announced for Etrian Odyssey 5, but so far the series has always existed on Nintendo handhelds, so it would be a surprise if it was on anything other than 3DS.
