Assassin's Creed Unity - Starving Times, Steal the Orders, Marie Levesque, Montgolfiere

A complete walkthrough for the ninth sequence of Assassin's Creed Unity, from stealing the orders to killing Marie and tailing the Montgolfiere.

All you have to do at the start of the ninth sequence is just make your way towards the objective marker until a cut-scene begins.

Tail the barge and steal the orders

During the next part of the memory, just keep aiming for the path ahead of you, but keep one eye on any obstacles coming up. Don't worry about fighting the Extremists when you see them, kjust keep going as fast as you can, and keep your eyes on the barge.

This part of the memory also allows you to tick off one of the Challenges in this sequence by keeping your feet out of the water. Just keep running until you get onto a bridge and you'll trigger a cut-scene.

Make your way towards the north-east intersection, then clamber up onto the building to the north. From here, race west across the rooftops until you're on a beam above your target. There's a haycart beneath you, along with a Brute wandering around, and an Extremist.

Jump down into the haycart behind the Extremists, then kill the enemy when no-one's looking in your direction. When the Brute comes patrolling past, kill him in a similar fashion. Don't worry about the other enemies to your left and right, and instead just leave the cart when they're not looking and get in the water.

Swim towards the floating dock, then sneak over to the southern section when no-one's looking. Kill the Extremist, wait for the Seeker to look away, then get up and kill him. Loot the orders from his corpse to finish up the objective.

Make your way to the dock you began on by racing across the wooden beams. Now just get out of the greyed-out area on your mini-map to finish the first memory of the ninth sequence.

Starving Times Challenges

  • Don't touch the water
  • Don't trigger any alarms

Before getting stuck into the main part of the next memory, defend the nearby merchant. To do this, look below you and to the right, then go across the rooftops until you can kill both Extremists with a Double Air Assassination. When you're done, keep following your friend and kill all the enemies you encounter. The objective will automatically complete when you're done.

Next, head back in the opposite direction from the merchant, climb the right-hand wall, and sidle along it until you're near the gate. Use this position to assassinate a pack of guards, but don't let anyone spot you at work.

If you look at your mini-map now you'll be able to see a cluster of objective markers. One of these markers represents a roaming patrol, and the guy up front has the key you need. The enemy behind him is his Defender bodyguard. The remaining markers are cell doors, which are the ultimate objective of this side mission.

Get into position by balancing on the rope above the north-west cell. You've got lots of time now to study the patterns of the patrol. When the key-holder walks beneath you, drop down and deliver a Double Air Assassination. Go and open up both cell doors, then return to your position on the wall.

Infiltrate the Palace and assassinate Marie Levesque

You should be able to see an open window to the south-west of this area. Get close to it using the rooftops, then activate your Eagle Vision ability to spot where the guard is. As soon as he turns his back to you, sneak up very quietly and take him down to finish this objective.

Keep heading through the building until you come to a pack of Extremists. Two of them will be guarding a door, while the other one will start patrolling towards you. Let this wandering guard spot you, then get into a cover position by the door. When he gets near, deliver a cover kill, then quickly leave via the window you climbed through. If you turn on your Eagle Vision, you'll be able to spot Marie Levesque.

Assassinate Marie Levesque

Keep heading in a south-westerly direction. When you leap over to another building, it's time to drop down a bit and crawl in through the window that's open. It's at this point that you should find Thomas Levesque.

To finish up one of your Challenges in this memory, free him from his room using a lockpick, then kill the pair of guards nearby with a Double Assassination. A little further down the hall is another locked door. Pick the lock, but make sure you don't get spotted by the Brute. When you're done, make your way onto the balcony and take out the Sniper.

Go back to the corridor, and this time head east along the path patrolled by the Brute. It's takes good timing, but you should be able to sneak onto the next balcony without being spotted. Kill the second Sniper, then get back onto the balcony where you killed the first one. Make sure you get into cover quickly too.

Let Marie patrol a couple of times so you get a very clear understanding of her movement patterns, and take note also of the door over in the south-west corner of the room. It's important you know exactly where this door is, as you'll have to make a hasty retreat in this direction after killing Levesque.

Look to the table over on your right and get near it. When Marie wanders beneath you, get on the balcony railing then deliver an Air Assassination, but make sure she's turned her back to you first. Her death will trigger a cut-scene, after which you'll need to race to that door we mentioned earlier. Go through the next door too, then down a corridor until you hit an exterior wall. Go left up the stairs, then turn right at the top.

Finally, leave the building via the open window and escape beyond the boundary of the shaded area on your mini-map.

Hoarders Challenges

  • Rescue Thomas Levesque
  • Don't trigger any alarms

First things first, you must cut all three of the ropes that are tethering the balloon. They're all quite close to one another, but you can use your mini-map if you're struggling to find the lot. If you attract any unwanted attention, make use of your Smoke Bombs.

Follow the Montgolfiere

Clamber up the northern wall, then go north-west towards the balloon. Just keep the balloon in sight as you free run in pursuit. The Challenges in this memory are pretty simple too - follow the Montgolfiere and stay off ground level. Watch out for the Extremists too, although Elise won't hesitate to remind you that she'll take care of them.

As soon as Elise and the balloon reach the church, you'll have to cut the ropes again. Climb up the building to get in position to do so. When the cut-scene finishes, use the lift to reach the rooftop, then keep chasing Elise. When you reach the objective marker you'll trigger the cut-scene that closes this particular sequence.

The Escape Challenges
