Assassin's Creed Unity - The King's Correspondence, September Massacres, Rouille

The next part of our Assassin's Creed Unity walkthrough shows you how to track down Napoleon, then make light work of the Rouille assassination.

From where you start you'll be able to see the window that will lead you into the palace. It's to the south-west, where the two buildings intersect. Unfortunately, there are quite a lot of guards between you and your access point.

The King's Correspondence

Go south along the rooftops, before dropping down and onto the roads below. Cross the road, then clamber up the building that's on the southern side of the street. Now head west towards that window, but watch out for a solitary guard. Kill him, or just avoid him before you climb up the building.

You should be able to see a pair of guards on the roof of a building that's west of the courtyard. Take them out using Air Assassinations, then be ready to make a choice. You can either switch off the alarms to complete one of your Challenges, or just ignore them. If you choose the latter approach, simply skip the next paragraph.

From where you're currently standing, you can find an alarm bell to the east and on the ground. A further two alarm bells are located to the west - use your Eagle Vision to track the three of them down. To successfully complete the Challenge, you'll likely need to make use of the Double Air Assassination skill. When you're done, make your way back to where you took down the first two guys.

Make your way onto the balcony, then kill the Extremist below you using an Air Assassination. Next, use your Eagle Vision to make sure you've removed every last threat, then quietly make your way inside.

Find the King's Office and the Iron Cabinet

Once you've infiltrated the building successfully, take a right and move quietly into the next room. There's a large couch in here, and you'll need to use it for cover once the coast is clear. Jump out from this position to deal with the Extremist, granting you one of the cover kills required for this memory's second Challenge.

Make your way back to where you entered the building from, but make sure you don't cross paths with the Brute while you do so. Turn on Eagle Vision to spot an Extremist banging on a door, as well as the roaming Brute. Wait for the Brute to wander into your room, then take it out with a cover kill. Finally, kill the guy at the door.

Go north until you reach a staircase leading up and down, then switch your Eagle Vision on to make sure no-one's about. Slither upstairs and kill the guard standing nearby, then just keep heading up. Get your final cover kill from one of the enemies in the next room. When everyone's dead, head north once more.

Use your Eagle Vision to spot the Extremist, then sneak up and kill him before dealing with the Brute. Next, go through the big door ahead of you to start a new cut-scene. The iron cabinet can be found on the southern section of the room. Just walk up and interact with it to complete the objective.

Defend then follow Napoleon

You'll have to defeat a series of enemies in this next fight. There's nothing too complicated about this melee rumble, but you might want to make use of any spare Smoke Bombs to make things even easier. Heal if you need to, and when the last enemy dies you'll automatically trigger a cut-scene.

The final part of this memory is nice and easy. Simply follow Napoleon until you complete the objective.

The King's Correspondence Challenges

  • Sabotage three alarm bells
  • Perform three cover kills

When the memory begins, Arno will be on a beam. Look to the bridge beneath you, then over at the entrance to the tunnel just to the left of the bridge. This is the spot where you'll start your infiltration.

Jump down and head towards that tunnel, then go through it until you reach a ladder. Climb up, then go up the stairs. Activate your Eagle Vision at the top to get a bead on a pair of Extremists. Sneak up on the two with their backs to you and finish them off with the Double Assassination skill.

If you look down into the courtyard you'll be able to see some soldiers being harassed by thugs. Look east and you'll see a Sniper who you'll need to deal with first. When he's down, consider using your Berserker Blade to make lighter work of the trouble below, before leaping in to finish off the survivors.

Light the fire

When you're finished you'll have to climb through a window on the west side of this courtyard. This will take you into a room full of bookshelves, not to mention the corpse of a soldier. Sneak up on the pair of Extremists a little further along and take them out when they turn their backs to you.

There are two more enemies near here, one of whom is taunting the prisoners, while the other is about to nod off. When he falls asleep, get into cover and kill him to get one of your cover kills. Next, slither up behind the Seeker and kill him.

Keep heading forwards now until you reach a dining room, but watch out for the enemies. Wait for the patrol to get close, then bag your second cover kill. Next, sneak up on his friend and take him out swiftly. With the room clear, you can now make your way up the stairs to get to the next floor up.

When you get to the top of the stairs you'll see Extremists fighting soldiers. Kill the Extremists, then go into the next room and take cover behind the barrels. When the path ahead is clear, go through the gate and hide behind the concrete structure.

Next, get into cover behind the pallet that's close to the Brute's patrol. When he wanders past, get your third cover kill to wrap up the Challenge. Next, finish his friend and ignore the two enemies by the window.

There's a gate on the other side of this room. Pick the lock, go through it, then leave via the window and head up the wall. Don't climb up onto the roof, and instead switch your Eagle Vision on to get an idea of where the Snipers and the Extremist are.

Go across the ledge until the patrol is looking away from you, then score your first ledge assassination. Move along to the next Sniper and get your second special kill. Kill the Extremist when he's not looking, then get back to where you were on the ledge.

Head south until you come to a roof, then head towards the waypoint marker. Set the flag on fire to finish up this objective.

Assassinate Rouille

Drop onto the wooden platform, then look north to where your target is. You still need one more ledge kill before moving on though, so position yourself close to the Sniper, bag your final special kill, then finish off the Extremist when the coast is clear.

From the bottom of the stairs, throw a Smoke Bomb up to stun your target and his guard. Sneak up behind them both and kill them quickly to end this sequence.
