Spacebase DF-9 gets a non-Early Access release date

Boldly goes where many games have gone before.

Double Fine's space-sim Spacebase DF-9 will be graduating from Steam Early Access on 15th October when it launches its totally official 1.0 release.

The game launched on Early Access all the way back in October after it was borne of Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight procedure - in which fans vote on which pitches they want to see developed into at least prototypes.

Spacebase DF-9's 1.0 release will add a tutorial and like Double Fine's most recent release, Hack 'N' Slash, it will come with the game's source code. Expect fans to make some ridiculous mods.

The game currently goes for £18.99 on Steam (or £22.99 with the soundtrack).

To commemorate its 1.0 launch, Double Fine has released the following infographic detailing Spacebase DF-9's evolution from random pitch to Early Access affair to 1.0 release.
