Nintendo brings huge line-up to EGX London

Plus all sorts of tournaments, competitions and discounts.

Gamer Network, which publishes this website, has announced Nintendo's line-up for this year's EGX London, taking place next week from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th September at Earls Court.

This year visitors will be able to feasts their hands on a rich smorgasbord of Nintendo treats, devouring demos of Super Smash Bros., Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Hyrule Warriors. And that's just the Wii U line-up.

3DS fans will also be able to sample Super Smash Bros. on the dual-screen handheld ahead of its 3rd October release, as well as Ultimate NES Remix and Monster Hunter 4.

There will also be lots of Nintendo-related activities going on at the show this year. For starters, there's a Super Smash Bros. tournament, with 34 Limited Edition Super Smash Bros. Nintendo 3DS XL consoles to win over the four days along with Pac-Man plush toys and Super Smash Bros. keyrings.

Elsewhere, our friends at Nintendo Life are helping to host the grand final of the Mario Kart 8 Championship 2014 tournament at 2pm on the Saturday. Participants will walk away with Mario trophies, first-party games and goodie bags, while spectators will get to ooh and aah at malevolent applications of the blue shell.

And Nintendo is also sponsoring the cosplay competition taking place on the Saturday, putting up prizes including another 3DS XL console with a copy of Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo is also also running something called the "Swag Wheel" on the hour, every hour throughout the show on its stand, where attendees can win what are presumably Nintendo-themed prizes.

The Nintendo Official UK Store will be in evidence too, offering a limited edition Princess Zelda Statue to pre-order (apparently there are only 100 in the UK) and 15% of all Nintendo software for attendees who play one Wii U and one 3DS game on the stand. Confirmed one-off deals at the show include a Mario 3DS Holder for £9.99, Mario Kart Wheels for £6.99 and Nintendo 3DS XL 8-Bit Cases for £8.99.

Phew. You'll need a sit down after all that. Fortunately, there's the National StreetPass Weekend event taking place on the Saturday and Sunday, where 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS owners are encouraged to come along and harvest each other's life force to complete the usual mini-games, as well as taking part in Mario Kart 7 and Pokemon X and Y games. Prizes for people getting involved will include eShop credit and Mii hats.
