The Sims 4 pirated copies include censoring "glitch"

The lack of money shot.

Numerous The Sims 4 players have been reporting a game-breaking glitch where censored naked characters remain behind a haze of blurry pixels even after they put their clothes back on. This cloudy mess then expands until the whole screen looks like a drug-infused fever dream. Only this isn't a glitch! It's a deliberate trap meant to foil those who pirate the game.

As reported by Player Attack, the official Sims 4 forums are amass with folks trying to find a cure for this bug, unaware that they're just exposing themselves as pirates for experiencing it in the first place.

We've seen these sorts of fake glitches/traps for pirates before in games. The most cunningly apt example of this was in Game Dev Story where players' in-game games would tank financially because pirates kept stealing their work. It's hard not to feel guilty when that happens.

Skullgirls also implemented a bait like this in the form of a peculiar message that people would no doubt ask about.
