Bayonetta 2 is the focus of the next Nintendo Direct

Fingers crossed for Iwata cosplay.

Bayonetta 2 is the subject of tomorrow's (4 September) Nintendo Direct livestream. Nintendo is being typically coy about what will be covered, but promises it will be an "in-depth look" at the long awaited sequel.

'What's wrong with being sexy?' asks Reggie Fils-Aime. Probably.

Nintendo, of course, picked up the game from one-time rival Sega, which published the original for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2010. The sequel will come packaged with a Wii U remake of the first game.

One of the most critically acclaimed games of the year, Bayonetta's hardcore gameplay, explicit violence and in-your-face sexuality make the series an eyebrow-raising addition to Nintendo's library of Wii U exclusives.

Previous Nintendo Direct shows have covered comfortable titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros, and feature Nintendo president Satoru Iwata being delightfully silly. It's going to be fascinating to see how they cover the bloody, kinky world of Bayonetta.

This episode of Nintendo Direct kicks off at 23.00pm BST via the usual website.
