Killer Instinct reboot is coming to retail, adds bonus fighter

European release still unconfirmed.

A retail version of Double Helix's Killer Instinct reboot is coming to Xbox One on 23rd September, Microsoft has announced.

Microsoft's news wire post about this only lists the price in dollars and contains an image of the cover with the US ratings board, ESRB, logo in the corner. We know that North America is getting this then, but a European release isn't clear. We've contacted Microsoft about this and will update once we get confirmation either way.

Killer Instinct's retail release will come with all eight characters from the game's first season - along with a code for Season 2's TJ Combo - for $19.99. That's actually better value than the digital "Combo Breaker Pack," which costs the same, but comes with no such bonus. Although it's worth noting that TJ Combo will be the first free playable character in the fighting game's upcoming season, due this autumn.
