Assassin's Creed Memories card combat game announced for iOS

Recruit historical figures in this F2P spin-off.

The Assassin's Creed series is getting a new free-to-play card combat RPG for iOS devices called Assassin's Creed Memories.

Using the series' new "mobile Animus", players will travel through different time periods recruiting famous historical figures to battle against other players. The mobile game will span several eras including Renaissance Italy, Colonial America and some all new time periods. It will contain both a single-player campaign as well as competitive multiplayer for up to 40 players in 20 vs 20 battles.

Assassin's Creed Memories is being developed by PlayNext, Inc, who made X-Men: Battle of the Atom and Sword of Phantasia. "We are passionate about creating great experiences for mobile players and we have applied all of our learnings and success with past games to Assassin's Creed Memories," said chief operating officer of PlayNext, JT Nguyen. "We want to capture all the excitement and beauty of Assassin's Creed and apply it to a completely new experience for mobile players."

Memories is currently in a "soft launch" in certain territories, but will be available worldwide later this summer.
