Fans remake Grand Theft Auto 5's trailer in real life

It's a case of life imitating art.

We've seen Grand Theft Auto 5's impressive sandbox environments used to recreate the car chase scene from Terminator 2 and the nine-minute trailer for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and now Spanish film company Zapruder Pictures has used its native Madrid to recreate the GTA5 trailer in the real life.

One might think Madrid and Los Angeles (where GTA5's San Andreas is based on) wouldn't look much alike, but the filmmakers have done a stunning job of matching central Spain to Southern California. The establishing shot with the windmills couldn't be more similar and the crop-dusting scene is especially spot-on.

Zapruder noted on its YouTube page that this remade trailer was created in part to secure funding for a Red Dead Redemption fan film entitled Red Dead Redemption: Seth's Gold, which is currently looking for €12.5K on Indiegogo. If funded, Seth's Gold would be filmed in Almería's West Studios where The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West were shot.
