Pool Nation FX on PC, PS4 and Xbox One this autumn

Cue shinier balls, better physics, more stuff.

Look very closely, in the reflection.

Now featuring even shinier balls and better physics: Pool Nation FX, announced for release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One this autumn.

Besides looking and behaving more realistically, FX allows you to spectate live online matches as well as dive into tournaments yourself.

Rules can be customised to the nth degree, and there's something called an Artistic Pool Championship that "brings the impossible to life", according to a press release.

The game's first trailer only shows a glimpse of gameplay, and the pictures are arty renders of balls - although hidden in their reflections is what looks like a pinball course.

Pool Nation FX builds on what developer Cherry Pop started on Xbox 360 in 2012, and then ported to PC and PS3 in 2013. It knows what it's doing and this should be worth a look.

It'll be a download game - price hovering around the £14.99 mark at the moment, Cherry Pop told me this morning. That could change, though, so don't take it as Gospel.
