Nintendo reveals online paintball shooter Splatoon

Cover an arena with paint to win.

Nintendo has shown off a new 2015 multiplayer game, Splatoon, which sees characters covering an environment with paint to win.

Designed for up to eight players, Splatoon supports four-on-four online multiplayer action where each user can switch between a squid and a person.

Armed with paint guns you fire paint at the walls, ceilings and floors of a map, while as a squid you can swim through it.

The GamePad is used to keep track of other players on the map, although you can also hide within the painty gloop to jump out and ambush other players.
