Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn set for consoles if it raises $450K

But it's only raised $140K at the campaign's midpoint.

When basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal announced his crowdfunded fighting game, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn - the sequel to his hilarious 90s dud Shaq Fu - he noted that it would only come to various platforms if certain Indiegogo stretch goals were met. This is no longer the case as the game is now confirmed for PS4, Wii U, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 so long as the minimum $450K goal is met.

Of course that's easier said than done, as just past its halfway point Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has only acquired $140,225 - less than a third of its minimum goal.

It probably didn't help that the rewards for pitching in a large sum of money are insultingly pitiful. For example, donating $6500 lets you be a concept artist on the game. That's not a prize: that's free labour. Yet somehow, two people took a plunge on it anyway. Another couple of backers kicked in $15K each to play b-ball with the man at his house (travel not included). Some people just have too much money. Like Shaq! But he wants your money anyway, as developer Big Deez, explained "The purpose of bringing the game to the public is to see how much interest there is in becoming Shaq's partner and in seeing the game happen. In exchange for your help, Shaq, is offering unprecedented access to his life with incredible perks." Perks like spending $250 to get a 15 second voicemail from the man - a prize no one has claimed.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has until 5th May to hit its $450K goal.
