Looks like Google is planning an Android TV

And games are a part of it.

Following Amazon's announcement of its Fire TV set-top-box, it looks like Google is planning one of its own: the Android TV.

That's according to The Verge, which obtained documents that describe Android TV as an "entertainment interface".

It's built on the Android platform, as you'd expect, but the interface uses a set of scrolling cards that represent movies, shows, apps and games.

There's a remote control, and mention of an "optional" game controller.

Apparently Android TV will support voice input and notifications, like all the cool kids on the set-top-box block do.

The documentation says Google is currently courting developers to create apps and games for Android TV. In the images we spot Asphalt 8, Plants vs Zombies 2, Temple Run, Triple Town and Where's My Water?

Google declined to comment on the report.
