UPDATE 31/03/2014: Activision has confirmed the Predator appears in the next Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC, Devastation.
Towards the end of the video, below, we get a glimpse of the alien hunter in Ghosts. He (it?) is added to the game with the upcoming Devastation add-on, due out on 3rd April for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Other platforms get it afterwards.
Elsewhere in the video we get a look at the four new maps: Ruins, Behemoth, Collision and Unearthed, the latter of which is a re-imagined version of Dome from Modern Warfare 3.
There's also the Ripper, a new 2-in-1 weapon which can switch from SMG to AR and back during combat.
And the video shows us Episode 2 of Extinction, Mayday. It's set on an abandoned research vessel and you fight two new alien enemies: Seeders and the 100ft tall Kraken.
ORIGINAL STORY: Call of Duty: Ghosts developer Infinity Ward has teased a Predator crossover as part of its upcoming DLC, Devastation, due on 3rd April for Xbox One and Xbox 360 with PS3, PS4 and PC versions to follow.
A brief Instagram video the developer posted depicts a soldier running through a South American jungle when we hear the familiar mandible clicks of the famous movie monster, who suddenly pounces on the marine while mostly invisible. If the sound effects and setting weren't a big enough hint, Infinity Ward posted it with the non-too-subtle caption, "If it bleeds...", a reference to the famous line from the film, "If it bleeds, we can kill it."
This isn't the first time Call of duty has incorporated Hollywood horrors into its DLC, as its last DLC expansion, Onslaught, had a level where you can play as Halloween antagonist Michael Myers - something Eurogamer contributor Dan Whitehead accurately pointed out didn't make much sense in a forest setting, as Myers was always more of a suburban stalker.
Hopefully this Predator crossover will be more true to its roots. It's been awhile since the license has had a game do it justice.
