See how Mighty No. 9's shaping up in gameplay video

Watch Inafune play nearly a minute of it.

Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune has revealed a minute of early footage showing how his blue bomber's crowdfunded spiritual successor Mighty No. 9 is coming together.

From the brief glimpse we get of Inafune playing this early build, we can see player character Beck shoot and stun some robot octopus-like enemies before dashing into them. Perhaps the biggest surprise is Beck's animations, which are a lot more dynamic than Mega Man's. He bounces and stretches as he bounds around, which stands in stark contrast to the blue bomber's simple, more static avatar. It's not much to go on, but it gives some idea of how it will look in motion.

In other recent Mighty No. 9 news, the game is being adapted into a live-action series by Contradiction Films, the studio behind the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series.

Mighty No. 9 is due next April on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Vita, 3DS, PC, Mac and Linux.
