Online video broadcasting company Twitch has sent a cheque of $90,000 off to the Red Cross to help those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Of that sum, $82,751 was raised by the Twitch community, through sales of 6300 limited edition Twitch t-shirts from a pop-up Teespring store. The remainder was put in by Twitch.
It caps a busy year for charity fundraisers broadcast through Twitch, all of which combined to raise more than $1.22 million.
"The Twitch community is extremely giving, especially when you look at the millions of dollars raised for charity this year using our platform," said Twitch founder Emmett Shear.
"So when we decided to dedicate a pop-up store for Typhoon Haiyan relief aid, we knew our community would support it, but we were still blown away by just how much support we received.
"Gamers," he added, "definitely represent the next frontier of philanthropy."
