United Front Games confirms new Sleeping Dogs game

Triad Wars to be unveiled in 2014.

United Front Games has announced it's working on a new game in the Sleeping Dogs universe.

It's called Triad Wars, which publisher Square Enix trademarked recently.

"So, we're making a new game!" UFG revealed in a short update on its website. "We can't say a lot about it right now, but you might have read about a trademark registration for something called Triad Wars? Well, we're super-excited that it's another game based in the Sleeping Dogs universe, it's something we've wanted to do for ages, and we're very happy to be working with Square Enix again... but that's all we can give you for the time being - we'll have more information about what the game's going to be in 2014."

Square Enix picked up open world crime game Sleeping Dogs after Activision dropped it from its publishing portfolio. It was published in 2012 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The game went on to shift 1.75 million copies, but, like other Square Enix games published last year, it failed to meet expectations. Square Enix had hoped for 2-2.5 million sales.
