Soulcalibur: Lost Swords is Namco Bandai's latest F2P game

UPDATE: Soulcalibur Lost Swords will be released in Europe, Namco Bandai has confirmed.
It will be available on these shores exclusively from the PlayStation Network, the Japanese company said.
Namco describes Lost Swords as a "free-to-play single-player experience," which sounds odd for a fighting game. Confirmed characters include series stalwarts Siegfried and Mitsurugi.
More information will be announced at the Tokyo Game Show next week.
ORIGINAL STORY: Namco Bandai has announced Soulcalibur: Lost Swords, the latest in a string of free-to-play games from the Japanese company.
Japanese magazine Famitsu (thanks, Gematsu) revealed the new entry in the weapons-based 3D fighting game series. Namco Banda has already released a F2P version of Tekken, and plans to do so with Ridge Racer and Ace Combat, so Soulcalibur: Lost Swords comes as no surprise.
Details are scarce, but we imagine Lost Swords will mirror Tekken Revolution's model of releasing characters over time.
The last entry in the Souls series was Soulcalibur 5, which released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. Earlier this year Namco Bandai announced the game had sold 1.56 million copies worldwide - fewer than Soulcalibur 4's 2.3m sales in seven months.
Namco Bandai will release Soulcalibur 2 HD Online for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this year.
