Space simulation X Rebirth launches on 15th November 2013
The game - seven years in the making - is the latest in German studio Egosoft's X Universe series.
Egosoft boss Bernd Lehahn said X Rebirth had taken so long to create because the developer wanted to achieve a "huge scale".
"I do not mean the physical size of the universe which is easy to increase," he said. "I am talking about a living, breathing futuristic universe crawling with life.
"Call them details, but at the end of the day they matter, and make the universe real."
X Rebirth†no longer requires a PhD in advanced space game menus, according to Egosoft. Expect intuitive controls and streamlined menus. But there's still a fully simulated economy and a complex geopolitical environment. And on the combat side, space battles range from one-on-one skirmishes to huge fleet engagements.
