Mark of the Ninja Special Edition DLC announced

Adds a new level, non-lethal takedowns, new items and developer commentary.

Mark of the Ninja developer Klei Entertainment has announced its Special Edition DLC due this summer on XBLA and Steam. No price has been set.

The expansion will add a new prequel level that follows the early life of tattoo artist Dosan. It will set the stage for what happens during the main game.

Additionally, the add-on will introduce an all new style of play in which players can perform non-lethal takedowns. There will also be two new items. While Klei hasn't revealed what they are just yet, it noted that one is "more geared to stealth and concealment" and the other is "a bit more direct." Both the new play style and items will be available in the main campaign as well as the new stage.

Finally, the Special Edition adds optional developer commentary to the game. All original levels will have nodes the player can interact with to hear details about the creative process behind the game. The developer commentary has been localised for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese.
