DmC Devil May Cry stocked at HMV and online orders safe, Capcom reassures

But other publishers refuse to comment on stock issues.

Capcom has reassured gamers that troubled retailer HMV will stock its latest release, DmC Devil May Cry, which launched in shops today.

Those with online orders for the game will also be unaffected.

"We can confirm that DmC Devil May Cry is available to purchase from HMV stores and any orders placed via its online store will be shipped," a Capcom spokesperson told Eurogamer. "If customers have any concerns we recommend they contact their local HMV store."

But beyond this week's releases, Eurogamer was unable to get definite answers about whether HMV will be able to stock the raft of big launches due in the coming weeks.

"We cannot make a comment, sadly, until we have clarification of the situation," Metal Gear Solid: Rising publisher Konami said.

It was a similar story with other publishers. EA, Microsoft, Namco Bandai, Sony, Square Enix, THQ and 2K all declined to comment on the situation at the present time.

After a relatively quiet January, next month will see the release of Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, Ni No Kuni, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

March is set to bring BioShock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Gears of War: Judgement.
