Borderlands 2 Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt DLC out 15th January

Level cap increase planned for Q1 2013.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, the next batch of Borderlands 2 DLC, has a release date, price and details.

On PC and Xbox 360 the date is 15th January, a Tuesday. On PS3 it's 16th January, a Wednesday.

On PC and PS3 it will cost £8/€10/$10, on Xbox 360, 800 Microsoft Points.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt starts with a hunting expedition but that goes belly up when you discover a new villain hell bent on restoring the legacy of Handsome Jack.

"Irresistible new loot, memorable new quests, a variety of challenging and exotic new enemies, a new vehicle and more await players as they fight their way through the never-before-seen lands of Aegrus to give this evil-doer the old one-two!" the Borderlands 2 blog announced.

Not only was Borderlands 2 brilliant, the two lumps of so-far released DLC have been some of the best add-ons we've ever seen. Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty earned 9/10, and Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage also earned 9/10.

Let's hope Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt continues the trend.

Don't forget, you can buy all three lumps of DLC - plus a planned fourth add-on - by grabbing the Borderlands 2 Season Pass that costs £20/€30/$30 or 2400 Microsoft Points.

Gearbox today said a Borderlands 2 level cap increase is planned for Q1 next year.
