Yakuza trailers show off dance battles, bear fighting

Buttstroke a bear in the groin!

Sega has released a pair of new Yakuza 5 trailers to announce the game's Japanese release date on 6th December.

The trailers - below - show off teen-idol in training Haruka's "street dance battles," as well as Saejima smacking a bear in the crotch with the butt of a rifle as all good huntsmen are wont to do.

They also show the new, quicker transitions into combat. It's not entirely seamless as there's still a brief bit of text that pops up dictating the shift to battle mode, but the camera doesn't pull away and it's much smoother than it used to be.

Also, was that a glowing chicken at 3:50 in the top trailer?

Yakuza 5 still doesn't have a confirmed western release, but given that even the series' zombie spin-off Yakuza: Dead Souls made it here, we're optimistic that this will see European shores as well.

Historically it usually takes the better part of a year before they make the leap, so it might be awhile, but to be fair, there is a lot of dialogue in these games and they are heavily steeped in Japanese culture, so localising them can't be easy.

Right now Wes and Martin are in Japan attending Tokyo Games Show and we're pretty sure they can verify that the country is exactly how it's depicted here, right guys?
