Arena battler Spartacus Legends announced

Ubisoft arms itself with TV tie-in.

Ubisoft has announced Spartacus Legends, a gladitorial beat-'em-up featuring weapon-crafting and upgradable skills.

It ties into sword-and-sandal cable TV series Spartacus, whose fourth and final season will arrive on TV screens in January next year.

Spartacus Legends is also listed for a 2013 launch, although an exact date and launch platforms are yet to be announced.

Lead actor Liam McIntyre will lend his likeness and voice to the game. McIntyre has also been offering Ubisoft feedback on early builds.
