Carmen Sandiego movie in the works

Jennifer Lopez eyeing starring role.

Anyone out there remember Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Go on, dig deep.

No? Well, a quick refresher - it's a creaky old edutainment series developed by Broderbund that had its heyday back in the late '80s and '90s. Aimed at young 'uns, players had to solve various mysteries on behalf of the ACME Detective Agency while surreptitiously being taught history and geography in the process.

And now, more than 10 years after the last entry in the series, Hollywood has decided that the world needs a big budget movie based on the IP.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shrek Forever After scribe Darren Lembke is currently working on a script for production company Walden Media. Jennifer Lopez is one of the producers and is apparently eyeing up the lead role.

Walden is reportedly shooting for a family-friendly mix of National Treasure and The Thomas Crown Affair.

There's no word yet on when it will make it into cinemas.
