Grasshopper, Suda 51 reveal new project Killer is Dead

Shadows of the Damned developer Grasshopper Manufacture has announced yet another new game, named Killer is Dead.

Scheduled to release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, Killer is Dead will rekindle the assassination-focused spirit of the studio's previous games Killer 7 and No More Heroes.

Directed by studio head honcho Goichi "Suda 51" Suda, Killer is Dead will highlight the dark side of being a James Bond-style agent by featuring lots of "beautiful Bond Girl-like ladies", Japanese gaming blog Sinobi reports (via Andriasang).

Players will take the role of a prisoner, sentenced to death, who must kill their would-be assassin. Like No More Heroes, Killer is Dead will feature swordplay, although revamped with new elements.

It is the latest in an increasingly long list of games now announced for release by Grasshopper. Following the release last month of Xbox Live Arcade shooter Sine Mora, Grasshopper is scheduled to launch Kinect-only baseball game Diabolical Pitch on XBLA today (Eurogamer's review will be live at 5pm).

Suda 51 will next contribute a mini-game to 3DS four-in-one game compilation Guild 01, due out in Japan next month but still awaiting a Western release date.

Following that, Grasshopper's cheerleading zombie hunter title Lollipop Chainsaw will see a worldwide release in June, before bloody downloadable side-scroller Black Knight Sword hits PSN/XBLA later in the year. Suda 51's also regularly mentioned a third No More Heroes game, too.
