Assassin's Creed: Revelations The Lost Archive DLC details

Subject 16 adventure set to reveal series backstory.

Upcoming Assassin's Creed: Revelations DLC pack The Lost Archive will detail the life of mysterious assassin Subject 16, otherwise known as Clay Kaczmarek.

Gameplay will take the form of narrative puzzle-platforming seen in Revelations' Desmond missions, which occur within the depths of the Animus - the series' virtual history-delving device.

A trailer posted by retailer Zavvi promises answers on Subject 16's identity and his relationship with other assassins in the series. Characters and settings past and present will cameo.

The Lost Archive will also unlock a number of pre-order bonuses for Revelations previously only available through certain retailers or via specific versions of the game. Players can apply the Turkish Assassin Armour, Altair's Robe and the Armour of Brutus.

Special edition campaign mission "Vlad the Impaler Prison" is also made available, alongside various equipment capacity upgrades.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations' Ottoman Edition, meanwhile, is as expected the "Game of the Year" edition of Revelations. It includes The Lost Archive as well as both multiplayer DLC packs already released. Zavvi lists it for launch on 30th March.

The Lost Archive will launch first however, on 28th February.

I was looking forward to this, but now I'm getting excited..
Setting it as a S16 story could make it a nice little chunk of series mythology.

So those spare Pillars in the animus WERE there for a reason. Crafty indeed.

Getting through the main story is proving to be enough of a chore. Don't think I need any extra fluff, though it sounds marginally interesting (by DLC standards).

It seems to be the same platforming you needed to do with desmond by creating blocks etc, which I didn't like at all. But this DLC does give some more background info, which is interesting. Hmm...what to do...

Excellent, love GOTY editions... though still waiting for the Mass Effect 2 one, lol

I've been crying out for Ubi to remember single player is worth DLC too...and they duly deliver DLC based on the most ponderous and frustrating aspect of the game.

Fuck you Ubi. The single-player story was woefully short and lacking, then you have the audacity to charge for extra content that utilises one of the worst additions to the game. All I'm interested in is unlocking the Vlad secret location, but there's no way in hell I'm coughing up for everything else as well just to get at that.

Well, watching the trailer I was slightly intrigued at the start as the art style seemed to encompass more variation than that found in Desmond's missions. But then it changed back to the usual assets.

I am dissapointed it is more animus stuff, but I'm not as dissapointed as I thought I'd be. It's not quite a definite no just yet, I'll wait for some feedback.

Still annoyed that Cam Clarke didn't do the voice for 16 in Revelations though

At least it isn't DLC based around the den defence game!

@Spong The "Vlad" location is interesting, but fairly brief I think if memory serves.

    @wtc0771
Yeah, I'd heard it was a little brief, like the Hagia Sophia secret location. But the secret locations have always been the jewel in AC's crown for me, and with ACR being so bereft of them, I wanted to at least unlock the Vlad location so I could glean one last morsel of fun from the game.

If they released the unlock code separately for a reduced price, I'd happily cough up for it.

I was very disappointed at the lack of tombs in Revelations. They really were the best parts of Brotherhood.

This DLC does sound interesting... but I traded in the game a week after buying it.

Looks like I'll be grabbing the Ottoman edition when it's £15 in a Zavvi Mega Monday in a couple of months.

would be awesome to get some story explaining more about subject 16.......... but more of those first person puzzles? noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! *in darth vadar voice*
  • CARL05 #14 3 months ago

I was expecting to have to wait till Assassins 3 to find out more of subject 16's past so I look forward to this, although I do hope it's not just the block building bits which were tiresome.
What's even better is that Ubisoft still remembers how to make trailers without dubstep!

Ubisoft has gone all nuts!! doing bull crap which fans hate!! Come on.. Assassins Creed Revelations alread was the worst game with all the worst gameplay elements in it that spoilt the brand and killed the fans expectation, and now they again come back with some stupid First Person shit which originally was the worst addition ever!! Damn it Ubisoft! why cant you use some brains and give us something that is worth its value! ..seriously i wish the developers and creative director of AC2 were there.. :(
