Pokémon Company blasts iPhone game scammers
Will "continue to combat" fakes for massive damage.
Nintendo developer The Pokémon Company has spoken out in the wake of an iPhone game scam which fooled thousands of gamers into downloading a broken version of Game Boy classic Pokémon Yellow.
The 69p rip-off was uploaded by a third-party scammer and reportedly crashed as soon as users tried to load the game.
"We continue to combat the unauthorised release of games, applications and merchandise that trick our fans into purchasing something that does not meet our quality standards," a Pokémon Company spokesperson roared at Develop.
Gamers doled out unanimously terrible ratings for the fake app, but not before it reached the top-selling lists in a number of countries. The game was live for over 24 hours.
"Fans who encounter questionable products should report to us immediately so we can keep other fans from falling victim to these scams."
In related news, last month's Mario Kart clone Mole Kart has finally been pulled from the App Store, although a new version of the game has already taken its place.

Pokemon Company threw a pokeball!
wild Mr. Mime fled!
I still find it strange that people were taken in by a completely unauthorised and unannounced "port" of a Gameboy game.

If you see an app that has literally hundreds of reviews rating it one star because the game doesn't work, and then you still pay for it, you're a moron.

Advance Wars By Web and Fire Emblem By Web did pretty well for themselves.
Then again, they are free and, y'know, actually work.
